Mom, Thank You For Being Here Today, Tomorrow And Always

Distance does not matter for a mother. Knowing how to be present is also having someone in your heart, knowing that you will always have the right word for every need, the most respectful advice and the most unconditional support in every circumstance.
Mom, thank you for being today, tomorrow and always

Mom, thank you for being present in every way possible. Through unconditional support, absolute trust, that look that from childhood gave me security and encouragement to make my way through life; In the way that I want and in the way that I choose. Thank you for being like that summer breeze that always offers calm, that awakens happiness and invites inspiration.

That a mother gives birth to these sensations in us is undoubtedly a gift. Behind a “good mother” there is actually a great person, someone with an exceptional human trajectory who knew how to take care of himself, who knows what his values and purposes are so that he can always give the best to his own children.

Washington Irvin said that “a mother will always strive to dispel those dark clouds that from time to time, hover over us, to achieve that little by little, peace returns to our hearts.”

It is true, but in reality, if there is something that these women achieve who manage to leave their mark on their children, it is to teach the latter to clear away those momentary clouds on their own.

Because mothers do not only have that classic role of nurturing affection, love and affection. They educate, correct, know how to set limits, inspire by example and do not hesitate to pave the way so that at the right time, their children advance by themselves in the world to choose the destination that they decide themselves.

Mother’s Day, a multicultural origin

It is during the first days of May when Mother’s Day is celebrated. For many, it’s little more than a department store marketing-oriented holiday. For others, a special moment to share with the family.

However, it is interesting to know that this day has been celebrated since the dawn of time and, more specifically, since the Old Kingdom in Egypt.

There, the goddess Isis, creator of life, goddess of magic and protector of children and women was worshiped annually. Also in Ancient Greece it had a holiday related to the figure of the mother.

In this case, the Greeks worshiped Rhea, mother of Zeus, Hades, god of the underworld, of Poseidon, Hestia, Hera and Demeter. She was a titan and it was common for the Hellenes culture to associate her with the Moon.

Later, with the arrival of Christianity, the festival began to focus on the figure of the Virgin Mary. However, it was not until the nineteenth century that the holiday was located in the month of May as a result of two very specific figures, that of the American poet and activist Julia Ward Howe and that of Ann Jarvis.

They organized demonstrations to reconcile the two sides in the American Civil War. Thus, something they achieved was the rapprochement of women, of all those mothers of families who had been victims of the conflict.

Every year both Julia Ward and Ann Jarvis, brought them together again to make the event a vehicle for peace, hope and the defense of women’s rights. Both achieved that in 1914 the mother’s day was established in the month of May.

Mom, thanks for being, thanks for being who you are

We already know that the Mother’s Day holiday is not a product created in a marketing and advertising agency. It has roots and, above all, an end: to value the figure of a woman, the one who fights for her rights, the one who defends peace, the love for her children, the one who is guided by firm values …

In some way, many of us are familiar with all these attributes. Therefore, we celebrate this day with them, thanking them.

  • Mom, thank you for being present with affection and intention in the most decisive moments of my life.
  • Mom, thank you for being by my side even without being there. Because even if I don’t tell you often, I always have you in a corner of my heart. From there, you always accompany me, from that place you will always be eternal.
  • I also thank you for having taught me to fend for myself, to give myself wings and not chains, to be a wind and not a moored anchor … I am what I am because you taught me that in this life you have to be free, but above all, there is to be responsible.

In essence, Mom, thank you for being there, for being who you are… So, so enthusiastic, so unique, an expert in making life easy by your side, for laughing at everything, for getting serious when you play and being for everyone, a role model and someone to love today, tomorrow and always.
